Teaching & Inspiring Mental Health Professionals

“By the time you graduate, if you are not a different person than you were when you started, we have failed you.” – Mark Purcell, PsyD

I bring two decades of hands-on clinical experience into the graduate classroom, bridging cutting-edge research with real-world therapeutic practice. I have taught at multiple graduate institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area and adhere to the scholar-practitioner model — bridging theory, research, and practice. My courses prepare graduate students to work confidently with diverse and underserved populations using evidence-based, culturally responsive approaches.

My professional workshops and public speaking events address critical issues in child/adolescent mental health, including:

  • Reducing mental health stigma
  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL) & Mindfulness
  • Violence prevention & Trauma-informed care
  • Healthy habits for screens and social media
